Nowhere for recycling to go!
The trouble we are having at Western is that we cannot get our local recycling company to take our recycling! They will take aluminum only. They say their facility cannot handle the quantities of plastic, glass, or paper the university generates. So basically, even if we can get folks to recycle, there's no place to take it. Any ideas?

We have a similar problem here at EKU...in family housing only (I don't think personal recycling is available in dorms) but they do take more that aluminum. Maybe an idea would be to ask everyone who is interested to sign a petition to take to the university pres and while working closely with your local recycling company, encouraging them to expand thier facilty by making it worth thier while, like showing them how much money they would bring in by offering more recycling options to campus!

They were very helpful to Berea College in the early days of our recycling program. Even if they can't provide direct service, their staff will likely be able to offer some good advice.
